Tallahassee, FL--Trulieve Cannabis Corp., one of the United States' foremost cannabis companies, recently declared that Steve White has resigned from his role as President as of October 1, 2023.

However, he is not entirely cutting ties. White will provide his expertise in a strategic advisory capacity until his projected retirement at the close of the year.

A Pioneer’s Journey

White is a recognized figure in the cannabis sector. In 2011, he laid the foundation for Harvest Health & Recreation, which he guided as CEO until Trulieve's acquisition.

Under his leadership, Harvest transformed from a singular dispensary into a leading multi-state operator, boasting cultivation, manufacturing, and retail branches across diverse markets. Post-acquisition, Trulieve welcomed him aboard as their President.

"We thank Steve for his service as our President," said Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve, in a news release. "He has played a key role in the success of the integration of Harvest operations with those of Trulieve, and is stepping down as of the second anniversary of our historic acquisition."

White expressed his sentiments on his tenure: "It has been an honor to work with the talented and passionate teams at Harvest and Trulieve, joined together by the common goal of serving patients and customers through expanded access to cannabis.

"I am so proud of all that we have accomplished together and I am excited for the Trulieve team and the many opportunities ahead."

What Do We Think

White's tenure at Harvest and Trulieve showcases significant growth and expansion in the cannabis industry.

His decision to step down marks the end of an era, but with his commitment to advise Trulieve until the end of the year, the company is poised to continue benefiting from his vast experience, especially with several potential opportunities on the horizon.
