Los Angeles, CA--Raw Garden has announced its foray into the edibles market by introducing THC-infused gummies. Best known for its high-quality cannabis flowers and concentrates, the company’s diversification signifies a strategic move to cater to a broader consumer base.
Each gummy contains 5mg of THC, which the company says is designed to deliver a light euphoric head high and a stimulating body high. Scored down the middle, these gummies make it easy for consumers to modify the dose according to their preferences.
Maintaining Raw Garden’s Sustainability Ethos
Produced from fresh-frozen, single-source oil, the new gummies align with Raw Garden's commitment to sustainability. The cannabis used to develop the oil is organically grown on Raw Garden's farm, ensuring a single-source, traceable product.
In an interview with Forbes earlier this year, Thomas Martin, the company's CEO, had explained how Raw Garden achieves sustainability practices. "The old saying, “garbage in, garbage out,” is what motivates us to own the whole process," he stated in the interview. "From the seed to the soil, and eventually into the consumer’s heart and lungs, we control each quality step. Grading standards in cannabis have been completely remiss for decades.
All-Natural Vegan Ingredients and Flavor Variety
Eschewing artificial flavorings, these vegan gummies come in five flavors: Bing Cherry, Meyer Lemon, Watermelon, White Peach, and Wild Strawberry. The company packages each batch of 20 pieces in resealable, high-barrier packaging which can ensure optimal freshness.
Availability Across California
The newly launched Raw Garden Gummies are available at various California dispensaries. The company says on its website that its products are available in over 850 dispensaries across the state.
Limited Consumer Reviews: Mixed Reactions
The Raw Garden THC gummies received mixed reviews on Best Dosage. While the product's light euphoria and stimulating effects were lauded, reviewers criticized the flavor and texture, leading to an overall score of 2 out of 5.
However, there needs to be more customer data elsewhere to support these reviews elsewhere, and we'll have our eyes out and around as the reviews by customers roll in.
Compared with competitors like Camino, the potency of Raw Garden gummies needs to improve. Consumers found the syrupy flavor and stickiness of the gummies off-putting. However, Raw Garden’s commitment to natural, vegan ingredients and single-source cannabis oil gives it a unique position in the market, and it'd be interesting to see if it takes a more competitive edge as more THC gummies are introduced to the market.
Market Data: A Growing Opportunity for Raw Garden
According to a report by Vantage Market Research, the global CBD gummies market size is valued at $1.30 billion in 2022. It is projected to reach $10.63 billion by 2030 at a CAGR of 30.00% over the forecast period. CBD gummies are among the most popular CBD products owing to their pain relief, anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, and neuroprotective properties.
While the above data is for CBD gummies, the rising popularity of THC gummies and more companies catering THC gummies to an already established customer base only opens doors for Raw Garden and other companies that would look to capture a significant share of the cannabis gummies market by leveraging its brand recognition, standards, and sustainability values.
Besides, there's already so much to be proud of. In an interview published earlier this year, the company's CEO Khalid Al-Naser pointed out a few positive things Raw Gaden has produced in the past — things he's proud of — including disposable-styled pens and infused joins.
By generating more than $80 million in annual revenue, the Santa Barbara-based company has already established its footing, producing more than 20,000 cannabis varieties as a part of its breeding program. It also has a bank of more than 25 million seeds.
Looking Ahead: Future Direction for Raw Garden
Despite the limited mixed reviews, the launch of Raw Garden Gummies represents an important expansion of the company's product line. It will be interesting to see how Raw Garden responds to consumer feedback and refines its gummy formula in the future.
The future's something the company's co-founder is excited about, and the cannabis plant's aroma is one area that he's been focusing on. "It hasn't made its way to market (at least not in its entirety) yet, but I have been working on a new way to think about assessing cannabis aromas," Khalid remarked in the interview. "Aromas have the opportunity to tell us a lot about what to expect from the plant and the likely effect, whereas the categorization of indica and sativa have become increasingly less effective."
Khalid added that he believes there is a way to simplify the process of extracting aromas. "I am working hard to support the idea with tangible assets that allow consumers to enjoy the dynamic aromas produced by the cannabis plant without a special degree or need to know aroma compounds by their chemical names," he noted in the interview.
