This collaboration will enable the production and distribution of their popular cannabis beverage, Major, to retailers across Nevada.
“We have long looked forward to working with Major and we are optimistic about the opportunities to build the beverage market in Nevada,” said Michael Hayford, CEO of Silver State, according to a release.
“Nevada is a growing market for cannabis beverages and we believe Major is well positioned to have success," Hayford added.
Available In Major Shelves
The release noted that starting September 30, consumers will find Major on the shelves of critical retailers.
The drink, which will be available in five tantalizing flavors – Sunset Pink Lemonade, Pacific Blue Raspberry, Sacred Grape, Volcanic Orange Mango, and Passionfruit – offers a precise 100mg THC dose and claims to impart cannabis effects within a brief 10-20 minutes post-consumption.
Highlighting the market's potential, a 2022 report by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board revealed that marijuana enthusiasts in Nevada spent a whopping $965.1 million the previous year.
“In less than 65 days since our acquisition of the Major brand, we have increased our market footprint by 20% in growing from 5 states to 6 states," said John Kueber, CEO, per the release.
"With the success of the Major brand and our asset light licensing model, we look forward to moving to more additional markets in the near future," he added.
“Nevada represents a growing strategic market for Nevis Brands and we are proud to be working with Silver State Wellness to produce and distribute Major.”
Nevis Brands’ Recent Corporate Changes
In line with the company's evolving strategy, Nevis Brands announced some critical alterations and additions to its roster of professional partners in August.
The report noted that McMillan LLP, a business law firm with a commanding presence across Canada, the US, and globally, is now Nevis Brands’ Canadian counsel.
Nevis has chosen Green Growth CPAs, an industry leader with specialized knowledge for Canadian companies engaged in US cannabis operations, as its new audit firm. They replaced Smythe LLP, which officially stepped down on August 14, 2023.
Pertinently, all changes, including the resignation of the previous auditor and onboarding of the new one, have adhered to regulatory standards and received the green light from the company's board.
"As the company continues its transformation following the acquisition of THC Essentials we have looked to work with partners who can provide us with the best possible expertise," Kueber said, per the report.
"We appreciate the work of our former legal counsel and Auditors and look forward to a productive relationship with both McMillan LLP and Green Growth CPA," he added.
Lastly, Nevis Brands partnered with Venture Liquidity Providers Inc. (VLP) to streamline and maintain a systematic trading market for the company's common shares.
W.D. Latimer Co. Ltd., a registered broker, will oversee this market-making service in compliance with pertinent regulations.
