In a news release, Ryan Crandall, Chief Revenue Officer, highlighted the facility's role in improving retail gross margins and bolstering wholesale operations.

The company has already secured early purchase commitments from retailers across Illinois. The upcoming cultivation facility will further strengthen MariMed's market presence, enabling the sale of its Nature’s Heritage™ flower and other products through retail and wholesale channels.

“Being vertical in Illinois will improve our retail gross margins and allow us to wholesale our branded products to other dispensaries,” Crandall said in the release.

“Our wholesale operations are already ramping and have secured early purchase commitments from retailers throughout the state," Crandall added.

"The opening of the processing facility, in addition to the opening of our cultivation facility in 2024, are important steps in the execution of MariMed’s strategic growth plan.”

MariMed operates five Thrive™ Dispensary locations in Illinois, offering a wide range of cannabis products. The new facility's launch aligns with Illinois regulations permitting operators to own up to 10 dispensaries and three craft licenses.
