New York, NY, and Miami, FL--Lightpath, the trailblazer in infrastructure-based connectivity, released an update on its earlier announced entry into the Miami market and its swift deployment of a new, all-fiber network.

According to a release, the new network by Lightpath, now operational in Miami's Central Business District (CBD), offers customers access to connectivity services like Internet, Ethernet, wavelengths, dark fiber, private networks, and direct connectivity to major Cloud providers.

The release noted that crucial data centers at 50 NE 9th Street (NAP of the Americas) and 36 NE 2nd Street (Digital Realty) are included in this network. Lightpath customers can also avail of long-haul services connecting to the entire Lightpath network, spanning over 20,000 route miles and serving over 13,500 locations, including over 100 data centers and seven cable landing stations.

"We are fully committed to the Miami market and the building out of a brand-new network here with brand new glass,” commented Chris Morley, Lightpath's CEO, as per the release. “The vibrant and rapidly growing business community in Miami deserves a new, modern fiber network that can serve the most challenging demands of organizations of all sizes, including Tier-1 enterprises, governments, educators, other carriers, and hyperscalers. Lightpath plans to build wide and deep in Miami and the surrounding region, with a goal of becoming the provider of choice in the market."

The release noted that Lightpath's entrance into Miami is their second major East Coast market entry in the last 18 months, with their foray into Boston announced in June 2021. Having initially planned a 55-route-mile buildout in Miami, followed by an 80-route-mile expansion, Lightpath expects to complete 65 route miles by the end of 2023, surpassing its original plan laid out just six months ago.

Miami customers of Lightpath have access to an extensive suite of all-fiber connectivity solutions, including wavelength services, Ethernet services, Internet, Dark Fiber, Private Networks, Cloud Connect, voice services (expected in mid-2023), Lightpath's new SD-WAN solution LP FlexNet, DDoS protection, managed security, managed WiFi, and options to connect to area Cable Landing Stations.
