Background

Established in 2021, Happi began its journey on dispensary shelves in Michigan.

In 2023, the brand diversified into hemp-derived direct-to-consumer online sales, delivering to 32 states.

"We’re proud to give Michiganders something to celebrate this fall with the launch of Happi in our home state,“ said Lisa Hurwitz, President of Happi, according to a report in Metro Times

“Happi offers a sophisticated sparkling water with just a hint of cannabis for those looking to redefine their personal happy hour," Hurwitz added.

"With our production partner, Redbud Roots, and distribution partners, 3Fifteen, Lantern, Sunset Coast Provisions, and Redbud, we look forward to making our happiest memories with a Happy in hand," Hurwitz noted.

"While we may not be able to change the world, we do our best to make it a happier place."

From Michigan to Texas

The release noted that Happi, originally from Michigan, was the first of its kind of cannabis-infused sparkling water in the state.

Although initial launch plans in Michigan faced delays, it was ultimately available at select dispensaries and through Lantern, an on-demand cannabis delivery service.

The release noted that the company previously made its presence felt with pop-ups in its "Happi Camper" retro-style trailer and plans to collaborate with Lume for sales at the DTE Energy Music Theatre by 2022 or 2023.

What Do We Think?

Introducing Happi’s cannabis-infused seltzers in Texas is a significant milestone in the cannabis beverage industry.

This move marks Happi’s expansion into a new market and signifies the growing acceptance of cannabis beverages in traditionally conservative states.

The collaboration with local entities, Bayou City Hemp Company and 8th Wonder Brewery, further emphasizes the brand’s commitment to local production and community engagement.

With its unique offerings like Glow and Nightcap, Happi is poised to cater to a wide range of consumer preferences.

The brand’s promise of more flavors in the future indicates its intent to innovate and meet evolving consumer demands continuously.

Given Happi’s successful track record in Michigan and its online sales in 32 states, the venture into the Texan market seems like a strategic move to capitalize on the burgeoning cannabis beverage industry.

As we watch Happi’s journey unfold, it will be interesting to see how this venture influences the landscape of the cannabis beverage market in Texas and beyond.
