According to a PR Newswire release, marking a radical shift in digital advertising, Fast Buds is capitalizing on Twitter's recent policy change permitting cannabis advertising.

This controversial move by Twitter has upended conventional online advertising norms, where giants like Google and Facebook have historically barred cannabis-related promotions.

Fast Buds' collaboration with Twitter is emblematic of the evolving global stance towards cannabis.

"We are glad that the Twitter team supports democracy and gives a different view of the cannabis industry as recreational and necessary to society,” said Nico, spokesperson for Fast Buds, per the release.

“We're excited to start working together and look forward to seeing the results," Nico added.

Twitter's policy update on cannabis

Twitter has become the first major social media platform to allow cannabis advertising in the United States; a move announced earlier this year is expected to impact the cannabis industry significantly.

The new policy allows advertisers to promote brand preference and informational cannabis-related content for CBD, THC, and cannabis-related products and services.

Advertisers must be licensed by the appropriate authorities and authorized by Twitter, and they can only promote their products or services in jurisdictions where they are licensed to do so.

Twitter's decision to allow cannabis advertising is a major step forward for the industry, which restrictive marketing regulations have long hampered.

The new policy will allow cannabis companies to reach a wider audience and build awareness of their brands and products.

Twitter's new policy is also likely to attract new advertisers to the platform, and one example has been Fast Buds. Many others are likely to follow suit.
